This guide will walk you through the process of creating, scheduling, and starting an observation using the Sketch template. You can identify this template by the post-it note icon displayed in front of the form.
Creating a new Sketch Form
- You can create a new form from two locations:
From your Dashboard, click New Activity, then select Form.
From the left-hand navigation, select Forms under the Activities section.
Select the teacher you’ll be observing, and click Next.
On the template selection screen, choose a Sketch template, then Next to continue.
Schedule your observation for now or in advance, and select the observation type. (Ie, Formal or Informal)
You will also have the option to add additional information about the classroom or preview the template.
- Once you have scheduled your observation, you will be able to find it in:
The Calendar under your Dashboards.
Or from the Forms tab in your Navigation bar.
Click on the scheduled observation, then select Edit Form to begin.
Once inside the Sketch tool, you can start entering your observations & notes.
Next, click the Tag to Framework tab and begin highlighting your notes to tag them within the Framework.
When you’ve finished tagging, go to the Give Feedback tab. Select a tag, then provide feedback and/or a rating as needed.
In this step, you can also choose to show or hide your feedback from the teacher by using the Private option.
Finally, click Save and Exit, review your notes and feedback, and then select the Complete Form button to finish and share with the teacher.
You can also manage the Form via the Actions drop-down menu.
