Note: This help doc is for SchoolStatus Classic/Connect Customers whose staff sync to Boost. Only a district's SPOC has permission to manage staff access to Boost. If you are not your district's SPOC, please contact them directly.
Anyone designated a district's Single Point of Contact (SPOC) in SchoolStatus has the power to fine-tune staff rostering within Boost.
You will first need to assign the TeachBoost module to any staff member who needs an account in Boost.
You can adjust how your staff sync across to Boost from their user configuration pages in SchoolStatus, using the following options:
Note: The ‘Evaluated at’ field is only available on Non-Teacher accounts in SchoolStatus.
Adjusting school-level access to Boost
Default sync behavior
By default:
- Anyone designated a Teacher in SchoolStatus will sync to Boost with Level 1 access at their assigned school group(s) (i.e. evaluated staff).
- Anyone designated a Non-Teacher will sync with Level 3 access at their assigned school group(s) (i.e. evaluator/admin).
- Staff assigned the Principal role in the Leadership Evaluation field will sync with Level 4 access at their school group(s) (i.e. evaluator/admin).
Overriding default access
You can override the default Boost access levels using the TeachBoost School Level Access options on each staff member’s SchoolStatus profile:
- Select Admin/Observer to give the staff member Level 3 access in Boost.
- Select Staff Member to assign them Level 1 access.
- Select Disabled to remove their access to Boost entirely.
Changes will take effect after the overnight staff sync. For urgent access updates, please reach out to Boost Support.
You can learn more about Boost access levels in this article: Understanding Staff Access Levels in Boost.
Adjusting district-level access to Boost
For staff who need to oversee evaluation activities across all schools and groups in the district, you'll need to enable district-level access in SchoolStatus.
Default behavior
- By default, TeachBoost District Level Access is set to No for new accounts.
- When set to No, you can select the school the staff member is evaluated at, and they will be rostered at that school with Level 1 access.
Granting district-level access
To grant district-wide oversight:
- Set TeachBoost District Level Access to Yes.
- This gives the staff member Level 4 access at the district level in Boost, including visibility into all schools and evaluation data.
Caution: District-level access provides full visibility into all evaluation content district-wide and should only be assigned when appropriate.
Adjusting access to leadership evaluation groups in Boost
Principals and Assistant Principals (APs) who need to be included in leadership evaluation groups in Boost should have their role selected in the Leadership Evaluation field in SchoolStatus.
Default sync behavior
- Staff designated as Principals in SchoolStatus will sync into Boost as:
- Level 1 in the Principal group
- Level 2 in the Assistant Principal group
- Staff designated as Assistant Principals (APs) will sync as:
- Level 1 in the Assistant Principal group
This ensures that leadership evaluation activities can be both conducted by and about these school leaders in the 2025–26 school year.
Understanding the Primary TeachBoost user for field
The Primary TeachBoost user for field is not required in order for a staff member to sync to Boost.
As long as the staff member has the TeachBoost module assigned and their TeachBoost School Level Access is not set to Disabled, an account will be created for them during the nightly sync.
However, this field plays an important role in how we pull Educator IDs for Non-Teacher accounts:
- For Teachers, we already pull Educator IDs from the Linked Teachers field.
- For Non-Teachers, adding a staff member to the Primary TeachBoost user for field allows us to collect their Educator ID from your SIS.
This becomes especially important at the end of the school year when Boost supports districts in generating an export of staff Professional Growth Scores to submit to the Mississippi Department of Education.
If you're evaluating Non-Teachers in Boost, we strongly recommend filling out the Primary TeachBoost user for field on their SchoolStatus profile to ensure their Educator ID syncs correctly.
